Marco Brandes came to the security business almost 30 years ago through karate sports. Early on until today he was engaged in martial arts and various defense techniques and initially worked as a "bouncer" during his training.

It has always been his greatest wish to found his own detective agency or a security company, which is why Brandes did an internship with the Lower Saxony State Police while still at school.

Due to the relationship to a "Police Officer" of the "Toronto Metropolitan Police", there was also a one-year stay abroad at the end of the 80s with an intensive exchange of experiences and internships at security companies and police units in Ontario / Canada and Detroit / USA.

After his return in 1990, Brandes initially worked for a security company in Peine and Salzgitter as part of the protection of refugee accommodation in Peine during the Balkan crisis.

After various training and further education in the field of detective agency, property and personal protection, Brandes initially worked as an operations manager in a security company in Hanover in 1993 and founded his own security company with the core competence of property and personal protection in Langenhagen near Hanover the following year.

A few years later, further training to become a personal protection commando followed with Germany's most famous bodyguard, Peter Althof (bodyguard of celebrities).

Since then, Brandes has regularly carried out personal protection missions across Europe together with Peter Althof.

Both are among the few private bodyguards in Germany who have also been approved to carry firearms on duty.

Althof and Brandes have already been seen together in numerous television formats, particularly around boxing and safety-related topics.

In 2010 Brandes received recognition as a trainer for the profession of "specialist for protection and security" from the Chamber of Commerce in Hanover.

Marco Brandes has been working closely with the police for almost 30 years as part of the so-called "public private partnership" and, a few years ago, also worked with Peter Althof and the "television policeman" Torsten Heim alias "Toto" from the cult group "Toto & Harry "founded his own stage format for the prevention of crime and violence.

Since Torsten Heim has been working as a police officer in real life for more than 35 years, the three security experts got together a few years ago to "fight" against crime and violent crimes. This format is called "Safety Day".

Since then, Brandes and his partners have been traveling through Germany with the team from "Safety Day" and revealing tips and tricks on the subject of safety to interested viewers.

As a security advisor, Brandes has also been lecturing on the subject of security, crisis and emergency management for several years and gives seminars on these topics, especially in companies and businesses as well as in the private sector.

Together with self-defense specialist and training partner Frank Grawe, he is also on the road with various self-protection seminars with a focus on defending against knife attacks.

His son Dario has been by his side for four years now, who, in addition to training in his father's own company (MBL-SECURITY & SERVICE), has also successfully completed his first personal protection missions with him.
